My Little Office

Here’s the favorite place in my house beside my bedroom. :P 75% of my time spends in this room. What i love is its coziness and personal touch.

Myoffice_1

I love my lazy chair because it’s like it’s hugging you. Mas Oq bought it from his friend just for 5 bucks! Wohooo…nice bargain.

The lamp was from ourĀ  neighbour, Matt who moved months ago (hmmm, actually we took it from him, cuz he left it in front of his house, he throw it away, what a shame…:( )

This is the new to the family: inflatable pouffe. I bought it from ebay last week. Actually, i didn’t know that it was inflatable. I didn’t see the description. But fortunately it works perfectly well and fit well with the rest of the furniture. Love it.

The last but not least is my monster (take it from chaos theory movie means baby/sweety, i think???). Bought it from ebay too. I love this laptop. Except that Vista runs in it and i can’t change it to XP cuz HP doesn’t support all the laptop drivers for XP (what an unconvenience truth!)

Yup! Ooo…and the view is soooo great. I can see my neighbourhood from up here and accompanied by my best three friends: OQ & BT & my TV. hahaahhaha

Ta’

My weird fish!

My two fish are having a little nap.

Myfish_2

They are gorgeous! I just bougth the black top fan tail gold fish called BT to accompany my old one called OQ. (his really2 big now!)
Both of them are really good friends. They sleep together, eat together, even oq, the big one, always follow BT everywhere! I saw BT passing a little space between the glass tank and the filter nozzle easily, then here comes OQ with much pride and failed to pass it cuz his big tummy won’t allow him. Hahahaha…

I love them so much!

Firefox 3

Yuhuuu…finally firefox 3 comes! It’s released today.
I’ve tried the RC1 and RC2. I really loved them. Now, i think I’m gonna really love the new release.

As far as i know here are what i love:
1. The favi icon in the address bar that will tell if the site is verified or not.
2. The most visited folder. So i don’t need to make a new folder to put my 10 best list!
3. one click bookmark in right hand of the address bar.
4. spell checking that built in into the browser (i think it’s in the previous version too…well..love it anyway)
5. It’s compatible with CSS 2.1 of course…:) this is the important thing (not like ie…ehmmm)

I haven’t try anything else. But i think it’s a lot faster than others!

Cheers,

Flower_continued

Flower at home

I love flower! Who doesn’t?

I always buy cheap flower in victoria market for $3-$6 or just cut flowers from my backyard. But when I arrive at home i don’t know what to with them. I just throw them in the vase, fill it with water then…walaaa…

I think it’s time for me to learn how to treat flowers correctly. Finally The Centre has a flower at home training. Megan Schmidtke, Di’s daughter, is the teacher.

Here are her tips.
when you buy or receive flowers as a cut bunch of flowers, there are a few simple steps that will prolong their life:

  • unwrap them–> don’t just put the bunch with the wrapping paper in the vase. looks ugly!
  • Strip any foliage that will be in the water of the vase –> it will decrease the life by polluting the water.
  • re-cut the stems on an angle–> this will remove the stem that has become dry & allow the fresh part of the stem to drink water again
  • add a tiny amount of bleach once vase is full to keep clean
  • change the water every 3 or so days, re-cut the stems again & remove any dead blooms, the vase will look clean & fresh again. it’s better look than a hlaf dead arrangement.
  • if you have an arrangement in foam, it need a small amount of water every day, the foam needs to stay moist and once it’s dry, it won’t absorb anymore water
  • remove things as they die!

basic tools we need at home:

  • good pair of scissor/secateurs
  • wires
  • twine
  • knife for cutting foam
  • florist tape

we made an arrangement in a noodle box with chop sticks as an accessories for the project.

Sewing Awesome!

My mom usually make clothes, bed cover, etc with her sewing machine. I didn’t know that it was such an important skill for a mother. I just know how to use the result. hmmm… ;D

P1000257P1000260Now…well, i realise i need the skill. Even just to alter jeans. So I decided to join sewing classes near my office called: Thread Den. Another reason is last year The Centre gave me a high tech sewing machine, so i have to use it any other way.

I learn how to use the sewing machine, fill the bobbin, change the needle & foot, overlock some materials then we made a very very simple pouch for final project.

PouchPouch_openI book for the second training in May:
how to make tote bag. Hmmm…wondering how it looks like. :)

your name

when i was in junior high school, i always thanked God that i have a first name start from a "P". why?
it’s because when the teacher called someone to finish an assignment on the blackboard or reading a paragraph from the text book in the class, she/he will call from the top or bottom of the attendance list.
"P" is in the middle of the list. So I will passed the "scary" thing that a child could imagine.

That’s the old day and the Indonesian school way.
Now, australian way is making the attendance list from your last name. Heck!
Because my last name start from "A" then…(you know what happen next).

So there’s a rumour said "don’t give your child a name start from an "A"" now add this "and the last name/family name from an "A"".

Hahahaha. Just joking.

Project 1, 2 & 3

These is my own project to make my house pretty!

# Project 1

I was inspired from the Real Living magazine. They use a string and a clip. I was to lazy to go to a shop, so i use a part of clothes hanger which i didn’t use and some pegs. I put this on top of curtain hanger in my bedroom. Love it!

# Project 2

Still inspired from Real Living Magazine [mas ockie said it's a bad influence for me. because i want to change everything in my house! :)]. This project is for my kitchen.
I took pictures with my digital camera [use your max resolution]. You can take pictures of your cutlery or anything in your kitchen then print them[with you own printer or go to the closest camera shop near you!]. Here, i took my cutlery, flower and mug with a bottle of coffee. It’s better to use black&white colour for your cutlery because it will max the steel colour. Put the photos in frames [i bought them at IKEA, 3 for $2! what a bargain]

# Project 3

I have a lot of poster paints from previous tenant who likes to make paintings. So, i started to paint since last year. But finally..finally…i finished it last night with a lot of effort. The theme is for my kitchen again. First i draw my idea on the canvas with pencil [i don't know if this the right thing to do], well i’m not a real artist. :p
Really, they look like my cousin paintings…haahaahaha…

# Project 4

Begging to buy a painting for entrance door to mas ockie fro years, i didn’t succeed.
So, i made this instead. I used a blank picture which i made with photoshop [or you can use paint if you don't have photshop], then go to picnik.com then design anything you like with the font and shape tab.

Welcome

Well that’s pretty much about it. Right now, I’m still doing my fifth project. i hope it will finish soon. I promise i’ll post it when it’s done.

PS: use blutack to attach frame, painting & photo on the wall or door so they won’t leave any marks.

School work_1

They’re not my best, but hey…I tried! :)

I made this for a postcard. The picture on the right side it’s a little bit dodgy. I found it hard to take a picture while doing a housewife job, an employee and a student. While the weather these days is not supporting. Well, this is the final result. I used photoshop, 165×110mm, 300 ppi, RGB.

Postcard_1

This one meant to be an invitation for everyone
between age 18-26. It’s a club dancing which play frantic music (silly me, i don’t know what frantic music is. so i asked my lecture…but still don”t catch it until now…hahahaha). i used illustrator, 165×110mm, CMYK, don’t forget to use 3 mm bleed for printing purposes.

Frantic

Another one is making a website for your favourite person such as an actor, sportperson, singer, etc. I made this especially for my idol, Nicholas Syahputra [don't tell me you want to throw up, :( ] It’s made with basic HTML without CSS yet. I use notepad++ [it's better than notepad], design the button with illustrator and edit the picture with photoshop.
